The Time Together project offers all this within one-to-one and group support mentoring situations. Mentors and mentees are matched according to needs and experience, and mentors can either use their experience to benefit a refugee from the same professional background, or simply introduce a newcomer to the UK and make them feel more at home. Mentors spend around 5 hours a month with mentees.
The use of mentoring is helpful to individuals in a range of circumstances. In the refugee context mentoring can provide an invaluable lifeline to those who are new to their permanent status in the UK, supporting them as they pursue their goals in education, training, employment and integration.
If you would like to join the Time Together Mentoring Scheme, as a mentor or mentee, you can register online at - www.timetogether.org.uk
