Time Together Time Together is a national refugee integration project, now available in Liverpool. The project gives support to refugees as they settle into their new lives and new communities.

Time Together brings together refugees and Liverpool based mentors/friends in a one-to-one relationship. The activities carried out in a mentoring relationship are defined by the needs of the mentee, and can, pretty much, encompass anything!...
ALM Allotment

Social Welfare

  • Finding local amenities such as sports centres/playgroups/community groups
  • Registering with local GPs/libraries/dentists
  • Navigating local transport
  • Exploring Liverpools shops and sights
  • Establishing friendships & becoming more confident with spoken English
    (where relevant)
  • Support in understanding the benefits system and applying for entitlements
  • Building confidence

Education & the Route to Employment

  • Identifying educational provision to match aspiration
  • Helping with college applications
  • Informing mentees about the UK education and employment system
  • Support creating CVs, filling in application forms and preparing for interviews

The Time Together project offers all this within one-to-one and group support mentoring situations. Mentors and mentees are matched according to needs and experience, and mentors can either use their experience to benefit a refugee from the same professional background, or simply introduce a newcomer to the UK and make them feel more at home. Mentors spend around 5 hours a month with mentees.

The use of mentoring is helpful to individuals in a range of circumstances. In the refugee context mentoring can provide an invaluable lifeline to those who are new to their permanent status in the UK, supporting them as they pursue their goals in education, training, employment and integration.

If you would like to join the Time Together Mentoring Scheme, as a mentor or mentee, you can register online at - www.timetogether.org.uk
