Outline:  

BEM Network "Work to improve access to & delivery of services to BME children and families, and others classed as excluded".
Advocacy, Capacity Building, Community Development, Events, Workshops, Information (including e-newsletter, website, funding information, jobs, etc). Website ha various reources including translation into 30 languages (via freeware so quality & accuracy varies). BME Business Directory (Annual) & on-line. Race Equality Council for Merseyside, including on-line report racism form. We also do work around Intercultural competencies, consultation, research, event management, ICT/Web, Youth Forum, Black History.

Many of the organisations involved in the Network offer relevant services (range and access can differ). Services avaialbe include advice, family support, counselling, outreach workers, bi-lingual workers, translation, education, supplementary schools, therapy, health work information, advocacy, events, training, after school clubs and creches, social work, befriending, girls/women only activities, sport, youth clubs, youth activities (5-13) etc. Examples of languages are Somali, French, Yemeni;
differs across BEM network members.

Outreach Services:  
Some members of the BEM Network offer an outreach service including bi-lingual outreach & befriending services. Outreach is usually family support linked. BEM Network can signpost to organisations.
Other Information:  
BEM Network members are throughout Liverpool and services and access differ.
