Sandy was born and still lives in Birkenhead, Merseyside.
Following a long and varied administrative career in the manufacturing sector, she joined the Department of Geography at the University of Liverpool to work in student administration and admissions.
Whilst working at the University she also undertook an undergraduate degree there in Social Studies; History, Sociology and Politics and successfully graduated with a 2:1 in July 2004.
She joined Merseyside Network for Change in July 2005 as Administrator and also worked as Assistant Administrator for NADA UK. In January 2007 she also took on the role of Administrator for Wirral Change.
