Keith was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, brought
up in South East Northumberland and has lived and worked in Liverpool
since 1976.He was educated in the North East and at Manchester University. He has a professional background in Town Planning, Local
Economic Development and Community based Regeneration Partnerships,
spending most of his career in Local Government in London, the North
East and in Liverpool where he worked for the City Council for 24
years.
He has wide experience of local development planning, European funding,
project development and management and community involvement in
Regeneration. He spent the last 4 years of his local government
career working with the community on the Parks Partnership ( a multi
agency Pathways Partnership covering the Kensington, Picton and
Fairfield areas in Liverpool between 1996 and 2000). His role was
to support the Partnership, develop and manage projects and manage
the European funding programmes for the area, advising and supporting
community organisations.
Since leaving the City Council in 2000 he has travelled in India
and Africa, started an Open University course in Global Development
Management, struggled to improve his Spanish and been involved in
the 4 Cities Project, a European funded Transnational Programme
involving a exchange of experience between neighbourhoods in Liverpool,
Belfast, Dublin and Brussels.
His rôle for
Merseyside Network for Change is to implement the Kensington Community
Bursary project.
